The issue related to the speed and reliability of our integration layer pushing updates back to clients' integration platforms.

When clients were pushing batches of jobs through our middleware layer, we queue the updates that go back to the system to ensure we do not hit any API limits that are in place with the platform. The issue related to these queue locks not being released in a timely manner, so jobs were being blocked from being updated for a period of time by other update jobs. ...

The cause of this outage was the release of a new platform to our integrations engine FusedShip.

Specifically, a library used by our core FusedShip engine and this newly released platform was updated during the release process.

This updated library auto-triggered a cascade of updates on some related libraries that were not triggered during testing in our staging change release.
