Today, Cloudflare, one of the companies that MachShip uses to protect our infrastructure from Cyber threats, had a "degraded performance" issue with the Magic Transit product we use to route your traffic into our infrastructure.

Unfortunately, you may have sometimes noticed that Cloudflare would show an error page. This was an issue in their infrastructure.

Cloudflare is a highly trusted, core component of the internet as a whole; more than 20% of all internet traffic flows through Cloudflare's servers globally. Unfortunately, as with any service hosted on computers with software written by humans, even Cloudflare can "break" at times.

Rest assured that in the circumstance that Cloudflare suffers a major outage, we have a procedure to cause your traffic to bypass the Cloudflare servers, and we would enact that procedure in that circumstance. Given that today's issues were intermittent, we judged that bypassing Cloudflare would not have been in the best interests of you, our customers, as the protections that Cloudflare offers are highly valuable to the uptime and reliability of a product like MachShip.
